AI Detector · Last updated October 13, 2026
AI Detector does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything it checks is checked inside your browser, and nothing is sent to us or to any AI service.
To do its job, AI Detector reads the text and images on the web pages you visit. That content is analyzed on your device and is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere.
To check an image for AI-generation information stored in the file, AI Detector downloads the beginning of that image again, directly from the website that is already showing it to you. No information about you or your browsing is added to that request, and the result stays on your device.
Your settings (whether highlighting is on, your sensitivity level, and the sites you've turned it off for) are saved using Chrome's built-in extension storage. If you have Chrome sync turned on, Chrome may sync these settings across your devices through your Google account. We never see them.
AI Detector contains no advertising, tracking, or analytics services, and has no servers of its own. No data is shared with anyone, because no data is collected.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
